December

Woke up this morning early to go to prayer, nice cold foggy first day of December. I am so thankful to Yeshua that He has given me so many friends that Love the Lord and that actively pursue relationship with Him. I am keeping an eye on things globally lately and here are some of the articles I have come across. Lately we have been talking about the Love of God and relationship verses Intellect. Look at what Yeshua says in John 5:30, this is His mission and ours as well.

Alarming

This is a real quick post, but I thought this should be noted down. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, enjoy this time of family and friends and remember to give thanks to Our Heavenly Father who has provided for us everything. Matthew 6:33 & Psalm 92. :)

Recent World Events

I haven't updated in a long time. It's because I really haven't thought this was beneficial to anyone excluding myself. I'm writing to remind myself of all the crazy events that have taken place in 2009. Gold is now hitting a record high and the dollar continues to decline (another sign of where are country is currently at and maybe heading). This is just a short post and I do plan on updating more than usual on forthcoming headlines. Stay tuned in. :)

Our President - Needs Prayer

I thought I was done with this blog, however, our President as well as his administration have continued to make unprecedented attempts at unprofitable change for this nation. I want to ask that anyone who reads this would be in prayer for the direction of our nation and specifically the President and his staff. Remember 2 Chronicles 7:14 - "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. " Don't forget God's promises for His people, He will neither leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). And we know that it is impossible for God to lie (Titus 1:2). So lets come before the Lord and pray that He will have mercy upon us, His children, and that we will not be overcome by evil but will overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21). Below are just a few of the bad decisions that have been made during his short time in office. He is pushing urgency on passing this Health Care bill and is trying to move it along and an incredible speed. One thing I know is that the Lord says patience is a virtue and that we are to wait on the Lord. It seems very clear that there is an agenda to getting this passed so soon and I believe it is because midterm elections are next year and that congress won't be so unequally balanced then. Please be prayerful, however, do not fear because YHVH SHEMA!!!

The Good News

With all the stress of life and all the distractions thrown our way lets not forget the Good News. Pastor mentioned this the other night and went through the scriptures talking about what the Good News is. The Gospel (Good News) is centered around the fact that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). So make it a priority not to lose sight of the reason we are here, To glorify YHVH (that is the name of the Lord). We have access to the Father through His son. Be encouraged that in the middle of your stress you can call on the name of the Lord and He will answer you and will not leave you alone (Psalm 138:3)

Still Here

Hey everyone I hope that you are all doing good and staying encouraged in the Lord. I know it has been some weeks since my last post and I apologize. I have had some crazy warfare going on in my life over the last month and I also moved out of my house as well. The Lord is on my side whom shall I fear, what can man do to me. I am learning right now to trust in the Lord with my life and lean not on my own understanding. It is tough sometimes to allow God's Word to actively work in our lives and shape us into who He wants us to be instead of our own agenda. Trusting is more than words and more than just teaching it is really relying on and putting our cares on the Lord. I really like 1 Peter 5:7 and it brings a lot of clarity to trusting in the Lord. The word there cast is referring to throwing it to Him. He does not want us to be anxious and worried and beat down (He doesn't love us any less when we are in this place, He just wants to walk with us and does not want us to fear - because He is with us). Keep me in your prayers over the next several weeks and be blessed and be vigilant as you walk with the Lord.

MIDDLE EAST UPROAR

Things are looking increasingly uncertain in the Middle East right now. Iran is in a stir over the recent re-election of Ahmahdenijad and Israel is divided over Netanyahu's recent speech. Now is the time to be praying for peace in the Middle East and praying for our leadership here in the United States as well. Be mindful of the decisions you make and remember the goal of the enemy is to deceive you and one of the first signs of that deception is excuses. If you notice yourself or others making excuse after excuse be reminded that deception is at work.

America and Israel

So how close is the relationship with Israel and the US today? I believe we are seeing the beginning stages of a weaker relationship with Israel. Ps 122:6 is still ringing loudly from the scriptures yet deception is driving more and more people against Israel. Last night at study we were looking at Romans 4 and who is Abraham? What is his significance? Why was he righteous? So we looked at Genesis 11 - 21 and answered a lot of those questions. Seeing that Abraham believed God and God credited it to him as righteousness. There were no works that made him righteous it was God alone through faith. Take a look at theses scriptures and ask the Lord what is the importance.. one hint (We are of the seed of Abraham through faith). I think it is becoming very evident how the US/Israel relationship is going. Be praying for the peace in Jerusalem/Israel, and God's mercy on our country and people. 1 Thess 5:18 - In everything give thanks....... read this verse its amazing!

FREEDOM TO ASSEMBLE?

In the time that we live people are becoming more and more skeptical and afraid. Some of the articles that you will see today show just how frustrated and callous people have become to people simply knocking on their door. In the past it was exciting to welcome guests into your home and talk with someone coming to your door. Today is a much different story. Fear of Jehovah's witnesses or burglars have people all but ignoring the door and if they answer it is usually with a half cracked doorway so they can muscle out an intruder. I would urge all disciples of Yeshua (Jesus) to keep an eye on these current American rights. Pray for lost souls and don't stop street witnessing or door knocking if the Holy Spirit is leading you to do that.

Memorial Day

Thank you Lord for those who have stood and given their lives to protect this country and fight for freedom. I took a look at the news this morning and I have to say things are heating up in the Middle East. It would not surprise me to see a war between Israel and Iran this year at all. Please be praying for peace in that area and for discernment for the leadership in Israel. Pray also for the innocent people in Iran who are not involved in politics and don't make the decisions over there. On a good note we had an amazing study last night and William and myself were asked to teach for a few minutes. I struggled with it for a good bit of the day and then prayed about it and gave it to the Lord. He calmed my fears and let me rest in studying out the word belief. I looked at several scriptures where this word is used throughout all the scriptures. It is amazing that belief is tied to faith and action and not confession. It is a two part deal. William was also asked to share/teach and he looked at some of the same scripture that Pastor Weintraub started in that morning at study John 8:31. He branched off and asked some great questions like in verse 33, in bondage to what? He went to John 15 and talked about abiding in the Lord, What does that mean? Also Galatians 5:16, and other places adding on to walking in the Spirit. Take a look at these scriptures and feel free to ask the Lord for others and examine what is believing? (Genesis 15:6; Exodus 4:5; Daniel 6:23; 2 Chronicles 20:20; Psalm 119:66 with Psalm 119:166; James 2:19; John 11:25-26; John 14:10-17; John 20:24-31; Hebrews 11:6; Philippians 1:29) Again don't limit your search to just these scriptures but really ask yourself what is it to believe?

Big Government - Big Problems

I am noticing that the U.S. Government is getting very very large. Not that it is a surprise or that most people don't already know this. There are a few headlines today that you might want to be aware of because I believe they infringe on your rights as a citizen. The rest of the Headlines will be as normal relating to what is going on in the times we are living. Remember it is the small changes that a government makes that sneak up on you in the long run. Very good Bible study last night studying what we believe and looking at the scriptures and doctrines that are taught by many different denominations. We have been looking at the word election and I would encourage you to look up that word and see when it is mentioned and what it has to do with. We are addressing three different belief systems right now, Catholicism, Armenianism and Reformed theology. So do your homework and study to show yourself approved. (2 Timothy 2:15)

Free from Oppression

Wow its been 11 days since the last post, O how time flys. To walk free from oppression is what the Lord has begun teaching over the last few messages. In my last post I mentioned the coming deception because that is a topic that Pastor Weintraub has begun teaching on and I beleive that is what the Lord is trying to prepare us for. Interesting enough because he has been teaching about blessing and how the Lord is El Shaddai (Provider and so much more). That is what the Lord does he prepares his people before something is going to happen and equips them with what they need to hold on in tough times. Yeshua (Jesus) desires to provide for us, deliver and keep us just as Jesus said in Isaiah 61:1. This last month has been amazing and I have had several opportunities to share the gospel with people. Please pay attention to what the Spirit of the Lord is saying because I keep getting urged by Him to tell people that He comes quickly. (Psalm 56, Psalm 120-124 right now are amazing)

The coming Deception

I believe that we are in living in the times of great deception spoken of throughout the scriptures. Jesus told us to be watchful and Paul warned against such coming teachers and so forth. Over the next month or so on Wednesday nights Pastor Weintraub is going to be teaching about this word and what is associated with it. He said he believes that there is about to be a time of deception that will be unprecedented and that we need to be aware of Jesus' words and teachings so that we are not fooled. So my encouragement to everyone is that you study to show yourself approved and that you continue in sound teaching, always taking what people have to say to the scriptures to verify the validity. Do not be fearful, those are the words that Jesus would say to us, just be prepared and stay close to Him. He warned the people in Matthew 24 about the coming times and many were not ready in 70 AD when Jerusalem was attacked and millions suffered death. Meditate on some of these verses and search them out to see what context He is referring to. Be encouraged and realized that we have His Spirit in us and we can't make it living by our own site. (2 Timothy 4:1-5; Luke 21:8; John 16:33)

Hosea - I love this song

I just wanted to post the lyrics to a song that I really like. Andrew Peterson writes and sings this song and it is very powerful. I would suggest the CD if you don't have it (Resurrection Letters Volume Ii). Lyrics: "Every time I lay in the bed beside you, Hosea, Hosea, I hear the sound of the streets of the city. My belly growls like a hungry wolf and I let it prowl till my belly's full. Hosea, my heart is a stone. Please believe me when I say I'm sorry, Hosea, Hosea, you loveable, gullible man. I tell you that my love is true till it fades away like a morning dew. Hosea, leave me alone. Here I am in the Valley of Trouble. Just look at the bed that I've made: badlands as far as I can see. There's no one here but me, Hosea.I stumbled and fell in the road on the way home, Hosea, Hosea. I lay in the brick street like a stray dog. You came to me like a silver moon with the saddest smile I ever knew. Hosea carried me home again. Home again. You called me out to the Valley of Trouble just to look at the mess that I've made, a barren place where nothing can grow. One look and my stone heart crumbled--it was a valley as green as jade. I swear it was the color of hope. You turned a stone into a rose, Hosea.I sang and I danced like I did as a young girl, Hosea, Hosea. I am a slave and a harlot no more. You washed me clean like a summer rain and you set me free with that ball and chain. Hosea, I threw away the key. I'll never leave."

Update

I have been learning about how not to fear, how the Lord is the blesser, studying the book of Romans, and today I was reading the book of Galatians a little. At studies recently we have been looking at how much the Lord talks about keep us (three different words used for that in the scriptures and they have to do with guarding us and watching over us). It is amazing to see all that He talks about wanting to keep and hearing us when we cry out. Another awesome study we have been on are the Psalms of ascent starting with Psalm 120 for the next 15 Psalms. (Psalm 39: 4-5; 2 Chron 16:9; Proverbs 13:3) I hope you enjoy looking at some of these scriptures they are awesome. There are tons of other verses but I am not looking at my notes right now and I am at work.

Global Fear

Global fear is not something that I enjoy reading on the headlines but it seems to drive the media. Currently people are fearing this Swine flu that has originated from Mexico. The problem is that people are becoming consumed with watching the headlines and hearing that we have not had an outbreak in ages and we have been expecting one for quite some time. The media reports on every aspect of the flu, where the latest breakouts are, they report pandemics of the past as well as what the governments response today is. Those of us that are Christ followers and walk in relationship with Him need to stand in times like these and not fear so that the world around us can see the Light that shines in the darkness. I encourage you to read the scriptures and see how often it talks about walking in the light, not fearing, and being encouraged in tough times. (here are just a few: 1 John 1:5, 1 John 4:18, 2 Timothy 1:7, John 16:33, Psalm 56:11, Psalm 118:6, Psalm 56:4, )

Impending disaster if left unassisted

Pakistan is one of two countries that the U.S. has listed over the last year as in danger of possible collapse (Mexico being the other). Keep an eye on what happens in this country because they are on the forefront of our battle against the Taliban. Just recently the Taliban seized control of an area in Pakistan which puts them closer to Islamabad. The reason this is bad is because Pakistan is a nuclear power and the government is really weak right now. Continue to watch and pray over this issue because this is their goal (nuclear weapons).

In recent studies we have been looking at what happened at Pentecost and the power of the Holy Spirit. I've got to tell you, just last night we were talking about this and one question really stuck out to me. How were/are we to know that Jesus was the Messiah, when He wasn't coming and saying... I am the Messiah, I am the Messiah look at me? One amazing example is in Matthew 4:23 when he comes preaching the gospel of the kingdom. That is an old testament prophecy and one that should have been in the minds of people instead they were focused on a physical kingdom. Look at Daniel 7:13-14 it is speaking about His kingdom and all nations shall serve Him and is everlasting. We don't even realized often times what Jesus came preaching and How he always elevated His Father and not himself. I would encourage you to read about the early disciples and how they followed Yeshua, what it cost them and how they loved. Acts 2 is where we have been focused lately.

Israel is ready - Are you?

Well in case you don't read the headlines.... Israel is ready to bomb Iran and is worried that the U.S. is not ready to go that way or support them. Israel is making it clear in a very resounding way that they will and are capable of this sort of attack with or without assistance. Take for instance there recent attack on a convoy in Sudan, their air force exercises one year ago that involved flying distances of nearly 900 miles (the same distance as some nuclear facilities in Iran). I urge all believers to continue to be in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem, the safety of the soldiers and civilians and the leaders of Israel. We have seen in the past what has happened when we have not stood with our brothers and sisters and Gods chosen people, lets be prayerful and ready. Pray and seek ways that we can make our voice heard about the situation in the Middle East because it is not a matter of if but when.

I want to share a few scriptures from this mornings message that are really awesome: Numbers 6:23 - the end of that chapter talking about the prayer or blessing. We were learning about the word Keep and how there are three different Hebrew words for it (of which I don't remember what those three words are) in the scriptures. Take a look at these scriptures and really get a picture that God is our guardian, our keeper and he wants to fight our battles for us instead of us always trying so hard. Psalm 91: 1-2; Deuteronomy 33:9; Deuteronomy 32:10; Proverbs 13:3; Proverbs 6:20; Psalm 31:23 (preserves); John 15:1-8 (vine dresser, abide in Him); Genesis 2:15. These are just a few of the verses and really show how he loves and protects and keeps us.

The Body of Christ

Lately the Lord has been building a revelation of His Lordship to me in ways that I have not seen before. Last night at bible study we were learning about the body of believers in Acts. It is amazing to see what Paul has to say about this in Romans 10:9 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." The importance is focused on understanding and confessing (confession is a good word to look up) His Lordship and His resurrection. Take a look at 1 Corinthians 12:3 and 1 Corinthians 8:5-6, he is saying if you say Jesus is Lord with your mouth it has to be by the Holy Spirit and it is a revelation that He really does rule and reign. This is a revelation that He really is the risen Lord and that He rules and reigns as King over all (he is not just a prophet, or a good teacher, or just the Son of God, or just the Messiah, He is Lord). Remember that LORD (YHVH) is a name that God revealed unto Moses in the OT and Paul specifically says that He is the same LORD (Exodus 6:3). I hope you really begin to see the importance of His Lordship because it is more than just salvation (although that is the most incredible gift - eternal life with the creator of everything - forgiveness of sins - redemption - and the list continues) it is ruler ship with Him. Part of the difficulty in seeing this has to do with our grasp of failure and our relationship with our deadness. Remember we are crucified with Christ and He lives in us, we don't have to walk around in sins curse any longer. I challenge you to read through Acts namely as well as the letters and look at how often Lord is mentioned and the power associated with His Lordship. It is amazing that he chose us to reign with Him and His kingdom is here and now (we are living in eternity from the day of salvation, if we close our eyes here in a physical sense we will be with Him... So praise God!!!)

Much to see

Its been about a week since the last post and things are continuing to press on. Bible studies have been amazing lately and we have been learning about the graciousness of God as seen in the Old Testament and reflecting in the life of the Messiah. Being able to see the cross from Numbers 6:22-27 is very revelational to us as believers. We also have been learning about one of the names of God (YHVH) pronounced Yod Heh Vav Heh which has been translated Lord or Adonai. In the original Hebrew it is written YHVH but actually in hebrew letters and represents the unpronounceable name of God. We adopted Jehovah by adding vowels to pronounce it; however, it really does not read that way in Hebrew. More and more I am hearing sermons and believers talking about having the Word in us and being in relationship with the Father for the times that are coming. Maybe persecution will rise in this country and it will be like that of other countries in our lifetimes and maybe not. Don't become relaxed in your day to day living and lose sight of the mission of Jesus, and how is kingdom is here now.

The 2nd Round

It is official Benyamin Netanyahu is the prime minister of Israel (he was sworn in today). I have said before to friends that I believed he would become the prime minister and it is refreshing to see a God fearing man lead that country hopefully with integrity. Keep an eye out on the next 90 days in Israel and the Middle East. What will he do about Iran? How will he handle the financial crisis? What will he do about Gaza? These are three very big issues that are pressing him right now and time will tell. Keep an eye on the G20 summit in Europe in the upcoming week (pray for the leadership, our president and those that will be meeting). Obama has a full plate meeting with, Dmitry Medvedev (Russian president) and China's President Hu Jintao on Wednesday, Prime Minister Gordon Brown (UK), and many other leaders. Issues of discussion will revolve around the global recession, North Korea, Iran and their rhetoric, our missile defense shield, proposal of a new world currency and dropping the dollar, among countless other issues of concern. Please really take time and pray for our leaders, ask the Lord for direction on what to pray and how to pray, seek his face and lift up your cares to Him and this very pivotal time in our lives. I have been reading the book of Exodus this week and I am amazed at how the Lord always hears the prayer of His people and that even if it takes 430 years He delivers His people according to His will. (Exodus 1st 12 chapters deal with the children of Israel up to and coming out of Egypt).

I AM THE WAY!

Please do not become complacent in your walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. Stand on your convictions and hold fast to that which is true. The Lord is really teaching and warning His people right now and He always gives warnings to His people. The warning going out right now is wake up! Do not be lulled to sleep by the enticement of the enemy. This world has a system all its own and it is not the Lord's, it is a counterfeit. Lately at Bible studies we have been talking about the Millennial kingdom when Jesus returns, as well as many other topics like, judging righteously, The Hand (Yod) of God, fellowship (community) like we see in the book of Acts and many other amazing revelations of the Father. I just got out of a Thursday night Bible study that I do with a few friends and we were discussing Passover. The Lord showed me some revelations that I had not seen before about Passover and it was neat getting to share some of these with friends who were interested in learning about their Savior. If you don't have passion in your heart and you don't hear from the Lord, ask Him some questions, leave me a comment or even email me at mrevanjones@yahoo.com. If you need prayer and you don't have anyone to talk to send me an email and I will gladly pray for ya or leave an anonymous note. Be encouraged friends, family: Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him." (John 14:6)

What does 1 Trillion look like

Hey everyone. This post is slightly different than some of the others and will be fun to look at. I know that with the previous post I mentioned 1 trillion dollars was being pumped into the U.S. economy. Now we throw numbers like one billion, one trillion around and its hard to really see what that amount of money looks like. So I looked up some websites that helped draw a picture of how much money that really is. So here are a couple of links that will show you how much 1 trillion is.
1) http://100777.com/node/455
2) http://www.mint.com/blog/finance-core/visualizing-one-trillion-dollars/
3) http://www.pagetutor.com/trillion/index.html

Now everyone please hear me. I am not trying to make you fearful or worry about this economy and how you are going to make it in the long run. Remember that Jesus himself told us not to store up for ourselves treasure on earth where moth and rust destroy, but rather to store up for ourselves treasure in heaven where neither moth or rust can destroy (Matt 6:19-21). So just take a look at those links if you like and get an understanding of where we are as a nation and how we are being foolish and not being wise with what we have been entrusted with.

Federal Govn't makes a last ditch effort.

My mom told me about an issue on Glen Beck that covered a story that was unnoticed due to the AIG scandal involving billions of dollars. The crazy thing is that yesterday the Fed pumped 1 trillion dollars into the economy out of thin air. You will have to read the article and even then you still will be some what confused. Basically they loaned themselves money that they don't really have in order to pay for things that they can't afford so that it will cover the short term problem. The problem with this is that the long term effect is not good (ie inflation). By the way a trillion dollars is a lot of money, in fact the AIG scandal does not compare to what 1 trillion dollars does to an economy. Very interesting article and you should take a look at it. 1 John 2:6 is the scripture that is changing my life right now, read it when you get a chance and talk to the Lord about this one.

One World Currency

Just take a look at some of the headlines today and you will quickly see how things are heating up. There is a lot of talk flying around about a global currency (This has been talk for many years and people always seem to get worked up about it). I would like to note, however; that the global economy as a whole is in a terrible situation and they are pushing for a currency that does not depend on the dollar. Keep an eye on this issue and be prayerful for this country, the leadership, for Israel and for those that don't have a relationship with the Messiah. Remember people there is no fear in love, perfect love casts out fear and God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind. (1 John 4:18; 2 timothy 1:7). Reading the article from Murdoch is a witness with the video we watched last night for Bible study, and a book that I am currently reading about the threat within our own country. I will be posting a link on this site soon of a video of a woman who was raised in Lebanon and has experience the love of Israelis, the bombings because of wars, and the change in Lebanon from democracy to tyranny. (The parallels that they experienced over the last 30 years are very similar with the way the U.S. is heading right now). And again everyone please leave me some feedback on each post so that I know that people are reading this or are interested in whats being said (especially the two new subscribers) Thanks.

It has been a little over a week since the last update and I am sorry that I did not update it since. There are some interesting articles I have been reading as well as a new book (Joel Rosenberg's new book). God is moving powerfully and lately in studies we have been talking of the coming Messianic Kingdom when the Messiah returns (I can't wait). Last night at Bible study we were recapping some of the things we have been talking about in relationship to that and answering questions to some of the lingering thoughts associated. Pastor Keith went in to Psalm 107:19-20 and Matthew 8:24-27 relating how are perception often times is not Jesus' perception. He also went to 1 John 3:7, Philippians 4:13 and others that really show how our perception should be. Its important to realized the finished work of Jesus Christ in us. We have the same Spirit (Romans 8:11) and we are no longer slaves to sin. Philippians 4:13 then becomes a perception, how do we really see it, His promises are true and He can't lie therefore if we live according to His Word and with His Spirit in us then all things are possible!

Things are heating up in the Epicenter

For any of you who are not familiar with Joel Rosenberg he is Christian man who was written many books regarding the times we live in and will live in. He has written many fictions and does not claim to be a prophet (however many of the stories he has written are based on his perception of what he thinks could happen and oddly enough many things have happened just as he has written in his books). Joel has only written a couple Non-Fiction books and he has one coming out tomorrow. I would suggest buying this book because his past books are among my favorites. This book is going to be about the current situation going on in the Middle East, with a look at Iran and how they have been gearing up since the 70's as an Islamic Republic (the wars to come and the situation globally). Joel has been a voice to this nation as well as a voice globally to people to wake up and realize that the things that are approaching are coming swiftly. Don't grow weary, don't fall asleep! Read Matthew 25 today and ask the Lord where are we today Lord, where am I in the parable of the 10 virgins? Please remember to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

A look at the Headlines

Don't let the headlines depress you. Remember that many events will take place that we can't explain and that times in our live will be difficult, keep trusting in the Lord for deliverance. He is our shelter, He is our strength, David says that is one reason He loves the Lord because He hears our cries, He bends His tear to us. I have seen lots of interesting things in the News this week and here are a couple of Headlines of interest.

Why seperate Israel?

Seperating Israel into a two state province is not a good idea. I know that it will not please God and that it will not stop the violence in Gaza. If anything it will produce a sense of entitlement on the part of Hamas and those living in Gaza and will increase the attacks on Israel. Take a look at this article about what Hillary Clinton is suggesting and leave some feedback. So far I have only received one comment to date on this site, so if there are things you like or don't like let me know. Friends of God please pray for the peace of Jerusalem and that the Lord would have mercy on us as a Nation. Look at Psalm 122:6 when you have a minute.

A Global Deal?

It was a great weekend and the Lord has been teaching me amazing things. Sabbath was awesome and Pastor Weintraub was teaching about The Father and how Jesus brings us access to relationship with the Father as well. We cry out to Abba and we can do so because the veil is no longer there at the physical Temple. Jesus (Yeshua) is now our access to the Father. One section of scripture that was really cool to look at is Numbers 6:24 through the end of that chapter. God has been showing us that this prayer was a prayer given by Him and displays the Godhead. Sunday was very amazing as well, at church Pastor Jason was teaching about how the church today is much the same as the condition of Israel in Deuteronomy and Jeremiah. He went to Deuteronomy 6:1-6 and explained how Moses was telling the Israelites not to forget the command of the Lord, and one of my favorite verses is Deut 6:4 - Hear O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD, and in the following verses it goes on to explain the 1st and greatest commandment that we see Jesus reiterate in the New covenant (It is also part of the Shema). So if you have not read these Scriptures please feel free to do so they are amazing and what a revelation. Take a look at these Headlines today and let me know what you think in the comments section.

A change in leadership, A change in direction

Blessed are you God creator of the world! I am reading a book right now, "Sitting at the feet of Rabbi Jesus", and it has really challenged me to see Jesus as he was as a first century Jew. Its hard sometimes to get past the very long haired Jesus with a lamb on his shoulders always smiling, or the picture of him being crucified. Many artists rendering of what Jesus looked like are what we have in our minds instead of really painting the picture of who He was and is (The son of the one and only God). Granted I am not saying that He was not happy or did not smile, and I am definitely not negating the cross and what He did through the cross. Only that it is amazing to dig into His history and see some of the things that were common in His time, the traditions that He actually was a part of. I would strongly recommend the book to anyone that is interested in learning more about His roots and His upbringing and about the culture that He was born in. One thing I really learned about was blessing and how Jews were raised up learning about blessing (thanksgiving) and would give thanks in the smallest of things to God. Here is an example: They would give a blessing to God for waking them with the crow of a rooster because he gave the rooster the ability to differentiate day from night, or when they would open there eyes in the morning because He has given site to the blind. So it is very interesting to look at what Paul was saying in many of His letters when he says, give thanks in everything (He was raised up Jewish and that would have been part of His daily life, but greater than that is that He was a disciple of Jesus Christ and followed after His teaching and how he lived His life (always giving thanks to the Father). Blessed are You Lord for you Have the Words of Life!

Stocks Fall

It has been a few days since my last post but I am still watching the headlines. Things have been moving south economically, praise God that he looks after His sheep and that we have no need to worry. I just saw that Target profit dropped 41%, Office Depot shows a 1.5$ billion loss, and Macy's reports a 59% drop in 4Q profit. Home prices have also posted a record decline at 18.2%. Also stocks are now back to the same level as in 1997. I don't remember if I mentioned this on my last post but Netanyahu was appointed to be the next prime minister of Israel. Please be praying for him as he now has to form a government.

There is a day coming when those who pierced him will mourn and will realize that He was the Son of the living God (Zechariah 12:10). He will save His remnant and He will return quickly. Anyone who reads this take heed that you do not fall asleep to the fact that the King is returning. He is preparing His people and setting things in motion that have never before taken place. More and more people today are teaching on the Return of the Lord and encouraging others to not lose heart. I just heard from my mother today that Billy Graham's focus now is turning to teaching about the Return of the Lord. His 50 years or so have been directly focused on proclaiming the gospel and preaching repentance. We know through the Scriptures that when the time of the Gentiles has come to an end there will be a focus back on Jews or the natural branches (Romans 11:25; Luke 21:24). I am not saying that non Jews will be without grace or salvation I believe this means there will be a focus more towards them at this point. After all Paul says that we were grafted in to provoke the Jews back to jealousy of God. People get ready Yeshua (Jesus) is coming and soon we will be going home. Come quickly Lord Jesus!

Today is a day that I am thankful to the Father that I am employed. I hear so much about the economy and how bad it is and never seem to hear how good things are going. Even when the economy is on an upswing it usually is centered around what went wrong that day. So i was browsing through some headlines today and came across one that was uplifting and one very interesting article concerning Israel's defense, the rest remind us where we stand and what times we are living in.

Netanyahu To Form Coalition!

Binyamin Netanyahu will be was appointed by President Shimon Peres to form a coalition. Netanyahu and Livni will now hold talks aimed at forming a national-unity government. Let us continue to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem and for the coming Prime Minister as well.
I read a headline that said New Jersey has had two earthquakes recently. To me that is very surprising because that is a very rare occurrence on the East coast much less in Jersey. Yeshua (Jesus) told us that these things would increase and were signs unto us.

Fairness Doctrine

I think that this is a very important topic to keep an eye out for. For those of you who have never heard of the Fairness Doctrine it has been around before and was ruled unconstitutional. "The Fairness Doctrine was a policy of the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that required the holders of broadcast licenses both to present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that was (in the Commission's view) honest, equitable, and balanced. [It should not be confused, but often is, with the Equal Time rule. The Fairness Doctrine deals with matters of public importance, while the Equal Time rule deals only with political candidates.] The United States Supreme Court upheld the Commission's general right to enforce the Fairness Doctrine where channels were limited, but the courts have not, in general, ruled that the FCC is obliged to do so.[1] In 1987, the FCC abolished the Fairness Doctrine, prompting some to urge its reintroduction through either Commission policy or Congressional legislation.[2]" (Wikipedia). This is the second article I have read in a week discussing reverting back to this doctrine. In the long run this doctrine impedes on freedom of speech and invokes larger government. Keep an eye out for some sort of this doctrine to be pushed under a different heading in Congress over the next few years.
I was reading the book of Mark this morning and it really excites me. John Mark who would later be associated with Paul the Apostle captures more miracles than any other account in the Bible. It amazes me just to go back and read how much authority Jesus really walked in, how that everything was subject to Him including wind, and sea. When was the last time you saw someone rebuke the sea and it obeyed? He is the real God. Also take a look at John 14:6 today, He is the final authority.

The Wait

Israel is in a close election and we are still awaiting the formation of their new government. The U.S. leadership is wishing for a Livni run Israel because of her willingness to negotiate with Palestinians, however; Netanyahu is not as willing to negotiate and is much more against the dividing of Jerusalem (Praise God!). Lets pray that no matter where we stand that God would have mercy on both the U.S. and Israel and that he would bring in to office someone who will Hear His voice. Again today I read another article on young kids and porn, and it begins to remind me of the state of Sodom & Gomorrah, Capernaum, Chorazin, Bethsaida, and so on. (Mark 11, Remember they weren't even given a chance to repent or they would have.) God has had tremendous mercy on us and just as in times past is saying, If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14). Yeshua (Jesus) is forgiving but also remember sin hurts his heart and their are always consequences for our actions. I want to leave you encouraged with Colossians 3 today.

Which direction will Israel go?

We are moving into a season of change globally. Markets are fluctuating and people are being sifted left and right. The rest of the World is feeling the effect of our so called recession. I read articles weekly about mega wealthy individuals who are committing suicide all because of huge financial losses. We as the body of Christ need to stand on God's Word and live out the Scripture, Yeshua (Jesus) says, "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (Matthew 6:19-21) Every time things start moving in a negative economic condition people often say Jesus is coming back any minute, Why only the bad times? According to scripture it will be just as in the days of Noah when people were living life just like any other day (eating drinking, getting married and so forth, Matthew 24:38). Who knows He could return one day when the market is setting its all time record. We need to be ready in season and out of season.
On a personal note: Praise God for today and for another beautiful 70 degree day in the middle of Winter!

First Edition - Signs Of The Times

My name is Evan Jones and I am a 25 year old college graduate. I am currently employed and am thankful to be in a place of employment during this down time in the economy. This is a blog that I have been thinking about doing for quite some time. I am praying about which direction the Lord would like me to go with this and I hope that I hear His voice correctly. I also pray that if this is something that the Lord really wants me to do then it will prosper, if this is not then it will fade in time. Luke 21:5 - 38 is very crucial in our walk with the Messiah in maintaining an awareness of the returning King. Verse thirty six of that chapter speaks volumes: "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man (Luke 21:36 KJV)." Look at what Jesus had and has to say to his disciples in Matthew 24. (http://www.blueletterbible.org/Bible.cfm?b=Mat&c=24&v=42&t=KJV#42) That link will take you straight to the chapter and you can read it really quick. With that stated lets be mindful how we spend our time and lets be ready for His return. We know that the days will be just like that of Noah with people living life with no regard for others and thinking only about themselves until one day when everything changes. This blog will be focused on topics and headlines that relate to the times we are in and give us indications and warnings of His return. I will not make this blog site one in which fear tactics are used but one that is focused on what Jesus taught. I am a disciple and friend of His and I want others to know about His love for us (The lost sheep of the House of Israel). My goal is to bring the news to you, I realize not everyone watches the news or reads about what is going on globally so this will be your update daily/weekly. Many updates will be related to what is happening in Israel as well as what is going on Nationally and other International News. I will make it my goal to send out updates daily, however; it may not be sent out every single day. Thanks for visiting and please leave any comments about this blog any concerns or areas of improvement. The King is returning!
